What does play therapy & creative counselling offer?
It offers a safe space for clients to be themselves, explore their interests & emotions using the toolkit to potentially gain insight into their internal thought processes as a result of the reflective nature of the therapeutic relationship, in the pursuit of healthy emotional growth.
The healing power of play & creativity
Most of us know that play is good for us - that it has a therapeutic value. It helps children of all ages, genders and cultures to learn, communicate and develop their personalities.
Similarly, creative arts help to unlock the potential of the child and operates on impulses from the unconscious processes. They can be vehicles for a deeper connection to the self.
Creative counselling
Using, playful and creative interventions to enable young people to safely express their thoughts and feelings.
Therapeutic considerations focus on the adolescent development, impact of trauma, and neurodiversity affirming practice.
Play therapy
Play Therapy uses a variety of play and creative arts methods to address chronic, moderate and severe psychological, emotional conditions and mental health problems in children.
The Play Therapist and child form a therapeutic alliance in which insights can be offered and agents of change can be considered.
