Our Locations
We are able to offer our sessions in two locations just south of Hampstead Heath - make sure you go to the right one!
Mortimer Terrace Nature Reserve
The Friday Carer & Child sessions are at Mortimer Terrace Nature Reserve, just off Highgate Road.
You can find details directions here.
A designated Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, the Mortimer Terrace Nature reserve has existed since the nineteenth century.
Dominated by the large sycamore trees, also present are a selection of classic woodland species including elder, dogwood, rowan and hazel. Woodland flowers like wild garlic and bluebells can be seen in spring.
Belsize Wood Nature Reserve
Other sessions are at Belsize Wood Nature Reserve, near the Royal Free Hospital.
You can find details directions here.
Belsize Wood is part of the land that was bought by the Midland Railway Company in the 1860s - the giant ventilation shaft they built is still in use.
It is split into two halves by a pathway - with the southern half being the nature reserve. There are a range of canopy trees like oak, ash, sycamore and whitebeam, with many other species in the understory like hazel and dogwood.
