What to expect?
Drop off is at Mortimer Terrace Nature Reserve - an enclosed, private woodland just off Hampstead Heath. There is no trekking to find a spot and no sharing with the public. The reserve is completely fenced and we have sole use to have our adventures.
Your child might catch & learn about worms, paint with daffodils or see “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” brought to life on a Tuff Tray! Each session has a different theme.
Rain isn't a problem - we have plenty of shelter from the trees and tarpaulins!
FAQ
-
The mixed-age community is the foundation of the Montessori environment - allowing the children to naturally step into roles as both learners and leaders, flowing at their own developmental pace.
There are plenty of articles as well as academic studies to highlight the benefits! A simple summary is here https://montessori-ami.org/trainingvoices/mixed-ages-montessori-environment

Our environment is designed to nurture your child's growing independence. Children who are already comfortable spending time at nursery or school will thrive during our Forest School sessions; a brief moment of hesitation is a completely natural part of that growth!
To fully engage in the experience, children will need to be able to take care of their toileting needs independently, though a supportive guide will always be nearby to offer encouragement and help when needed.

Yes, but regular attendance is most beneficial for development!
